Ashley Burman, M.A., Intern
ABOUT ME
I grew up in St. James, MN, and love the small town community. I lived in Mankato while going to college and then my husband and I moved to Hastings for the last fourteen years. We decided to move back to the area for the sense of community for our three children and to be around family. I have always loved helping others and wanted to be able to help others as my profession.
EDUCATION
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato, in 2007, with a major in family life and child development and a minor in corrections. I completed my Master of Arts degree in marriage and family therapy in 2016.
WORK EXPERIENCE
My experiences include working with families, couples and individuals with a variety of different backgrounds. I have experience in working in a private practice setting with individuals, families and groups; in a treatment facility with individuals, couples and groups; in homes with individuals and families; and in schools with individuals, families and groups.
Therapeutic Philosophy
I feel everyone needs someone to talk to, as life is full of unexpected situations. I believe having the right person to talk to can help one grow, improve one’s life situations and learn to accept and/or adapt to work through the situations.
