Deanna Armstrong, B.S., Intern
ABOUT ME
Hi everyone! My name is Deanna, and I’m a Eunoia Family Resource Center intern. I provide services in the Mankato and Fairmont offices. I grew up in a smaller town northwest of the twin cities and was involved with dance throughout my childhood. I have two dogs. I love traveling and experiencing new things. I enjoy relaxing at home and watching tv with my dogs in my free time.
THERAPEUTIC PHILOSOPHY:
My goal is to empower my clients to manage their mental health and other concerns through a strengths-based approach. The best outcomes are achieved when individuals are engaged in services and want the best for themselves. I use a variety of evidence-based theories and interventions while providing services to my clients, which are tailored specifically to them and maximize the potential for positive changes.
EDUCATION
I graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato, in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Child Development & Family studies as well as Applied Leadership. I’m in school right now pursuing my Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in advanced clinical practice and working with children and families. I’m expected to graduate in August of 2023. After completing my MSW, I hope to become registered as a Play Therapist and be educated to provide Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
WORK EXPERIENCE
I have experience working with various populations, including the elderly, children and adolescents with disruptive and sexual behavior problems, adults with physical and mental health concerns, and families. I’ve worked in various settings such as residential care, crisis services, group homes, child protection services, domestic abuse shelters, and the YMCA providing youth development services.
