Justin Coates M.A., LPCC, Intern
ABOUT ME
I am passionate about helping individuals and families understand themselves more deeply and build meaningful, lasting change. I believe that healing happens through safe relationships, curiosity, and evidence-based care that honors each person’s unique experiences. My clinical approach blends trauma-informed practices, attachment theory, and nervous system science to create a supportive environment where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered.
Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy spending time with my family, coaching youth sports, and contributing to community initiatives that improve mental health access in rural Minnesota.
EDUCATION
Justin is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and graduated with a master’s degree from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. He is currently in the final year of his PhD in Clinical Psychology program at Walden University, where his dissertation focuses on Parental Capacity/Fitness Evaluations and the need for increased standardization to promote fair, accurate outcomes for vulnerable populations involved in child welfare and family court systems.
At Eunoia, Justin provides comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations under the supervision of Dr. Ramie Vetter, a licensed psychologist with specialized expertise in assessment. Beginning in May, Justin will also complete his year-long PhD internship at Eunoia, allowing him to continue offering evaluation services and ensuring continuity of care for clients and referral partners across southern Minnesota.
