ABOUT ME

Hello! I’m Samantha Thoreson. I grew up in a very rural community, then lived in Mankato for 10 years, before meeting my husband and moving around here.

I spend most of my time with my family, but I do love to read a good book, swimming, spend time outside, camping, and traveling.

EDUCATION

I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Minnesota State University-Mankato with a major in psychology and a minor in alcohol & drug studies. I obtained my LADC (Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor) post undergraduate. I am working towards completing my Master of Behavioral Health in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University.

WORK EXPERIENCE

I have experience in working in a number of different settings, with clients of all ages and different cultural backgrounds. I worked in the addictions field for approximately 13 years where I worked with adolescents and adults. I also sat on Drug Court and Family Dependency Court for FMJ.
