ABOUT ME

Hello! I’m Samantha Thoreson. I grew up in a very rural community, then lived in Mankato for 10 years, before meeting my husband and moving around here.

I spend most of my time with my family, but I do love to read a good book, swimming, spend time outside, camping, and traveling.

EDUCATION

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Minnesota State University, Mankato, with a minor in Alcohol & Drug Studies. Following my undergraduate education, I became a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC). I then completed my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Capella University.

WORK EXPERIENCE

I have experience in working in a number of different settings, with clients of all ages and different cultural backgrounds. I worked in the addictions field for approximately 13 years where I worked with adolescents and adults. I also sat on Drug Court and Family Dependency Court for FMJ.
