Scott M. Morgan, M.S.W., LICSW
I grew up in central Iowa and have resided with my family in the Mankato area since 2003. After completing graduate school, I served in the Peace Corps for 2 years, working in the area of health and sanitation in the Central African Republic. I enjoy reading, camping, boating, biking, traveling and attending sporting events.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, where I majored in history and minored in political science. I completed my Master of Social Work degree at the University of Iowa in 1994. My fieldwork practice was in the area of community mental health and hospital social work. I am a Certified Geriatric Mental Health Specialist in the state of Washington.
I have been with Eunoia Family Resource Center since November 2017. I have over 20 years’ experience working with individuals and families in outpatient and community settings. I have worked with a variety of ages over the years, but I now focus my practice primarily on serving adults and seniors. I have experience working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, phase of life adjustments, developmental disabilities, persistent mental illnesses and grief and loss.
I use cognitive behavioral and solution-focused therapeutic models as a basis to increase clients’ self-awareness and understanding of how thoughts and behaviors impact one’s overall functioning. I employ a holistic approach while focusing on strengths, empowerment and mindfulness. It is my goal to establish safe, supportive and positive therapeutic relationships with my clients which will allow them to improve the quality of their lives and develop skills to successfully navigate the various challenges that they encounter throughout their lifespan.
